Safeguards
EigenYields vaults incorporate multiple layers of protection to secure assets and ensure fair operation.
Guardian Role
Section titled “Guardian Role”A designated Guardian address has the ability to pause redemption flows in an emergency. This provides a circuit breaker in the event of a detected exploit, oracle failure, or other critical issue. The Guardian cannot move or access vault funds — it can only pause and unpause operations.
Timelocked Parameter Changes
Section titled “Timelocked Parameter Changes”Critical vault parameters are subject to timelocks, meaning changes cannot take effect immediately:
- Notice period — participants are given advance notice before parameter changes go live
- Lock-in period — certain changes require a minimum delay before execution
- Fee adjustments — management and performance fee changes are timelocked
This gives participants time to review proposed changes and exit the vault if they disagree.
On-Chain NAV Validation
Section titled “On-Chain NAV Validation”The vault’s NAV is updated on-chain during each settlement. This creates a verifiable, transparent record of vault valuations over time.
Liquidation Buffers
Section titled “Liquidation Buffers”When vaults deploy capital into Aave lending markets, they operate in E-mode with conservative loan-to-value ratios well below the maximum. This provides a buffer against liquidation during periods of market volatility.
